While the opportunities are virtually endless, there are some events you simply don’t want to miss:
- South by Southwest (SXSW)—This annual event, held in Austin, includes film, interactive media and the largest music festival of its kind in the world. This year, the music festival alone will have nearly 350 performers. The film conference boasts more than 250 sessions with over 700 presenters, including well-known actors, directors and producers. It kicks off on March 8 and runs for eight days.
- Spring Break Living History Week—Visit the Pioneer Museum, in Fredericksburg, from March 11 through the 16th to learn about pioneer life in Texas. Demonstrations include blacksmithing, tomahawk throwing, rope making and butter churning.
- The Art Squared Arts Market—A juried art and fine crafts show held at the Hays County Historic Courthouse on March 11
