Just a half an hour from New Braunfels and slightly more than an hour from Fredericksburg, the Alamo lets you go back in time and experience one of the key events in the state’s fight for independence from Mexico. There’s a living history encampment where you can see how soldiers and civilians lived in the days of the Texas Revolution.
You’ll Have Endless Options on the San Antonio Riverwalk
San Antonio is also home to the world-famous Riverwalk, 15 miles of restaurants, bars, shops, museums and other establishments. You can get to Fredericksburg in less than 90 minutes from just about anywhere in the Texas Hill Country. There, you’ll find more than a dozen world-class wineries. You can also visit historic Fort Martin Scoot, take in the National Museum of the Pacific War or go for a hike at Old Tunnel State Park.
